I bought this jacket about 5 years ago from Aero Scotland (on their sales page) and it's believed to be a Poughkeepsie. I'm afraid i'm no expert on A2's however, there are plenty around here so maybe someone could confirm this.
As the original lining was missing it has a replacement Aero Beacon lining and an incorrect, although period looking, label (now labelled as an Aero). The knits are replacements too however this does mean you get the original horsehide leather with all its many years of patina and a very serviceable lining and knits if you wanted to wear rather than store away in a wardrobe.
The zip is a Talon, maybe original but cannot confirm. It's slightly fragile on one side - see photo - but still works fine. Also some slight flaking around the collar but I haven't noticed this deteriorate over the course of my ownership. A close look at the leather reveals that it had a name and squadron patch sewn on at some time.
Size is labelled as 42 but please note these measurements (I'm a fairly standard size 40 and it fits perfectly)
Measured flat across the chest 22 1/2 inches
Sleeve length from shoulder seem to end of knit 24 3/4 inches
Back length from collar seem to end of knit 25 3/4 inches
This was advertised by Aero for £600 and I knocked them down to £500 now selling for £450 which I think is pretty fair judging by my eBay research.
Please PM with any questions. As I said, i'm no expert but i'll do what I can!
