For anyone looking at these shoes...my Husband has a pair exactly like them. They are so very well made, look fantastic with wearing them while any brown or tan attire worn with them, and I must say, you cannot buy a shoe in this comfort zone and quality wise, for this low price they are being sold for. I doubt you could match the level of these shoes for less than $450.00 and even then you may not be able to buy a all leather shoe like these are. If this is your shoe size, I'd certainly suggest you not delay and just buy them. These are a real bargain.

Out of interest, what is your 1960s /1970s date assessment based upon?
That is most likely accurate...they do not have a somewhat "soft shape" spade sole, and the leather finish on these (pebble grain). The ones my Husband has, is a grain leather also...but not the same as these and has a slight "soft shape spade soles" on the shoes. Still these shoes are super great shoes. These beat most AE shoes all up and down. The style is exactly as what is here. Daniel loves wearing his...comfortable.

Even more simple than that. Soles, heels, that stamp on the interior. The leather type & quality used... even the style. DEFINITELY post-50's Florsheim... and closer to 70's than 60's.

You may be 100% correct. The shoes are still nicer than what is for the most part, being sold today. Florsheim must have had s similar of not same "last" used to make similar model shoes. The soles are not the slight spade soles, but not that bad of a quality for sure and that model of shoe is very comfortable. Nice looking style as well....sort of a business casual can be worn with a suit or just jeans or chino pants....(some with a real sense of humor or no fashion sense may wear them with...shorts.....)

Still all in all, these shoes are worth every penny of the owners price...and then some. I would think the overall quality of leather and the standard "shoe leather" being used today is far less quality of even the late 1970's.
