The is a brand new model to be released by Freewheelers . . . its called the Journeyman and its made with deer skin. This is NOT my jacket, although I may bite the bullet when it is released:

Someone here ought to start a business making super overpriced yukatas, haoris and jinbeis, one million dollar a piece. I'm thinking, made from Lochcarron Tartan.

I admit I'm finally falling for these coats, and this one looks exceptional (pocket flaps, no upper yoke). my draw has been wearability with an untucked shirt, yet practical to sit down in with the front closed. Not possible without serious bunching on a long zip front without an extraordinarily large gap at the hem. Whereas, the button front allows you to unbutton the bottom one or two. Plus I love that casual look.

My problem with them has been shaking the Donnie Brasko stigma. Clearly an over exaggeration by a country mile, but it remains the image I have burned into my judgement. But it's breaking :)

So I'd guess you could call me a convert, and this latest offering in the car coat class appears to be another banger

Get one, Craig, slightly wide, then quickly turn around and sell it (to me :D)

I don't like the chest pocket, it's too dressy for my taste. Other than that, it looks pretty cool. reminds me of the Aero Vest de Rallye, which is a very cool car coat really.

Yep I totally dig it and want one. Just hope they make them in other sizes besides the smaller Japanese sizes. Would love to own one that fit!

I wonder how they fit, run small or large in their sizing? I assume Deerskin has a matt finish to its leather rather than their high glass Horsehide? Love the look.

I've never seen shiny deerskin, but who knows what the kids are puttin' on them these days...
I would only pray that they make them affordably and in large deer sizes, but maybe I'll be happier if not.

Looks like the sizes range from 38 to 44. Cost 2300 bucks (no pun intended). They are in the Japanese sites but all show sold out. I'm thinking these stores are taking pre orders for the jackets but the Google translator doesn't lend to specifics. I love this jacket but man, that's a lot of money! Must resist and pay off my motorcycle instead.
