I thought I'd share this. I look at this website from time to time. It's slightly chaotically structured, but aren't we all? There must be other websites similar to this from all over the country.

My favorite sections are the several pages on "ghost signs" -- old painted wall ads for forgotten products and businesses. Whenever I'm in NYC I get a sore neck from looking up at buildings for signs of old signs, so it's nice to have so many great examples gathered together!

As a jaded native New Yorker I am constantly looking up at the old painted advertisements on the side of buildings.

My favorite New York feature are the water towers. Nothing makes me feel like home more than riding an elevated train in Queens and viewing the horizon dotted with these beauties.
