I am absolutely thrilled to hear that a movie based on the life of Charles Upham is in production. For those not in the know, Upham was a Kiwi soldier in WWII who is the only combat soldier ever to be awarded the Victoria Cross twice. His courage was legendary and his exploits beggar belief. He is considered by many historians as the outstanding individual soldier of the War.
I'm really looking forward to this and Upham's feats would make fantastic viewing. I just hope they do the man justice as he has almost mythic status here in NZ.
