Fav jeans for athletic builds?

Hi all,
I'm visiting Japan in the fall and researching Japanese denim brands so that I'm not spending all my vacation time in the Hinoya fitting room. I'm short with an athletic build (5'5, 23-inch thighs, and 15-inch calves) and prefer a jean with a medium-high waist, and loose thighs that go straight down so that I don't look like a carrot. I'm wondering if anyone has any favourite selvedge denim brands/fits that I should seek out while in Tokyo.

I tried Naked & Famous' True Guy fit as well as Freenote Cloth's Belford jeans. Both fit me really well but I want to hold out for Japan for a nice souvenir. Any reccos? I don't think I could splurge on a pair of Iron Hearts, but I'm open. Thanks in advance.
