I have a Falcon Park 100% Beaver Hat in 22 7/8'' Long Oval.
I recieved this in early August of 2011 after a 5 month wait, I have never worn it with the exception of trying it on & having the ribbon changed.
It fell off during shipping, It was not tacked in place,, I did not bother to send it back or complain, I figured it would be a long time to fix if returned.
I have a good friend who had a good collection of vintage hats & he had replaced the ribbon with some vintage ribbon for me I have seen some of his ribbon work
that he does on his collection & he will change on hats he sells sometimes strictly vintage......I do not know what happened to the original ribbon that came with this hat..the vintage ribbon is a biege Khaki color & he frayed the edge of the bow.....the only thing that i did notice with this replacement ribbon is he tacked it down a lot & on the inside you can see a stitch & thread that he passed through the liner in one spot....He made sure this ribbon was not going any where....
So as for the hat itself the felt is Beaver & very nicely pounced & feels luxorious. No problem with the fit & if your a Long Oval 7 1/4 your good..
I gave him measurement at the time of 22 7/8''
this is a copy of the Falcon Park Gentleman & the brim is a up style (not Snapped) though im sure it will shape to your likeing & the crown is a simple center dent with small
dart's in front & pretty straight crown all around ...
The Sweatband does have some ripples but no problem affecting fit & in the pics if you notice wrinkles in the sweat, it is just the grain of the leather & looks nice & strong overall & good leather with a soft touch to it...
so here are the specs,
100%Beaver , brim is 2 3/8th'', crown is as bashed front 4 1/2'', side 5'',rear 4 3/8'' & the ribbon is 1 5/8'' wide in a Khaki color & vintage with a frayed edge.
A very nice hat That i had never wore....Im into vintage lite felts or lite beaver felt customs...this is a very nice felt & not hard at all its good quality.
if you ordered this today it would run $335.00 shipped. you can have this for $235.00 shipped in the 48 states & no waiting.
