I purchased an Evans lighter and cigarette holder combo yesterday at a local antique shop and trying to get more info on it as well as instructions on how to change the wick (if it can even be done). The tag on it said it was a 1920's but as I did research in the shop I believe it to be somewhere in the late 30's (could be wrong). From what I read, Evans did not even start making lighters until 1928. Mine is a Evans Trig-A-Lite. Here is a link to one exactly like mine (I can post some of the actual one sitting here now). http://www.musclecars.net/parts/EVA...H-ART-DECO-PATTERN-For-Sale_110655138938.html
Any information on it would be GREATLY appreciated as well as if the wick can be changed out. I threw new flint in it, some Zippo fluid and I cannot get the wick to catch a spark and light. If you strike it 20 times, it will light 1 or 2 times. It acts as if the wick is not long enough and close enough to the spark.
Thanks a lot in advance!
