The seller listed this suit as 1930's. The auction ends soon and I'm thinking of making a bid. It seems weird, however, that a suit from the thirties would have a zipper instead of a button fly.

What do you guys think?

This is a 50's suit. Zippers were already common on US pants since the mid-30's, but it is the "Hollywood" waist and the center vent, along with the overall cut that point to the 1950's.

Thanks! I'd been the high bidder, but was on the fence. Fortunately I was outbid, so I'm just going to pass on it.

To me, something seemed weird about the lapels; they just don't look like thirties lapels.
