Easiest, least "painful" way to cup a brim...

Send it back to Art and tell him what you want. It's unlikely you'll be able to do a descent job of it yourself unless you have a brim flange in the size and shape you want. I say this from experience.

When you say "cup" your brim...what exactly are you saying? To give it more "up" curl in the back? Or more snap down in the front?

Either way, do it with a gentle steady steam from a kettle, you know, those "whistling" tea kettles with the narrow spout, which give a wonderful tight stream of steam!
Steam the area of the felt, and by hand, shape the brim to where you want it. Try this first before spending back and forth shipping to Medford.

When reshaping my Akuras, I found that it was easier to prop a hat up against something, so it has the shape I want and then take my small trekking gas with a small kettle and place a plastic tube on the spout and steam the hat with the tube and then just leave it to cool and dry again.
I found it much more difficult to hold the hat over the spout and try to shape it by hand and then hold the shape till the hat is cooled off.

It is very hard to let your new hat go but really send it back to Art ... he returns quick fixes like that quickly and you will have no problems...
