Has anyone here worn earls camp trouser? It's duck canvas, buttonfly, sort of military/carhartt work style. Was curious how they fit.

Haven't been able to find any other classic style buttonfly work pant for under $100. These go for around $40-$50...

Good pictures here: http://www.handeyesupply.com/products/gung-ho-camp-trouser

They also come in brown and khaki.

I've scoured this forum for similar pants, so any other recommendations in a similar price point would be awesome too.

I can speak for the Earl's trousers - but the Fatigue Pants, not the Camp Trousers (although they're nearly the same).

Fit
First off, know that these pants are sized according to your actual waist measurement and not your modern pants size. Many modern manufacturers have shrunk their sizes to make the public feel slimmer. For example, a typical pair of size 32 jeans/trousers actually measures about 1½” to 2” larger than the size indicated. Earl's Gung Ho trousers make use of true sizing so you'll need to order a size or two larger than normal. Best bet - measure about 2" below the naval and this is your size. I usually wear a 32 and need a 34 or 36 in the Earl's.
For actual apparel measurements, go to this website: http://www.hickorees.com/brand/earls-apparel
The Fatigue Pants definitely have a longer rise, so go with these if you like high-waisted trousers. The Camp Trousers have shorter rise, but fit about the same otherwise.

Construction
The Earl's trousers that I own are what I would consider typical G.I. construction quality. You can tell they are mass produced and come with a few long loose threads. However, everything seems to be stitched together well with quality materials. The Earl's Fatigue Pants are made with 8.5oz cotton (choice of twill or sateen) while the Camp Trousers are made with a slightly heavier 10-12oz cotton duck. The Fatigue Pants are pretty lightweight, comparable to typical Dockers cotton pants (maybe a bit lighter). I have no problem with them here in southern Florida, but can't imagine wearing them in colder northern climates.

Pricing
There are a handful of online retailers for Earl's Gung Ho apparel. The website listed above is one place, but the best prices I have found are located here: http://www.allseasonsuniforms.com/eacat.htm

Hope this helps!
