I just received two black motorcycle jackets (Walter Dyer and a Natel jacket)--Both are basically the same style, 4 zippers on the front , 2 venting zippers on the back, liners in each . No doubt (grew up driving by Dyer for decades) Dyer is a very solid USA Made Motorcycle Jacket with very thick well sewn leather. That said---When I saw a Natel jacket (slightly larger) I decided grab it. One I can wear with a shirt, a layer. The other I can wear with many layers and get some slow Autumn riding in.
The leather on the Natel is definitely heftier than the Dyer Leather--pretty impressed with the Dyer jacket but then the Natel came.
No one has every solved the mystery (read everything here) of who Natel was. Then there's the confounding other solid manufacturer out of Middleton Massachusetts.
