Darn, now that I bought my land, this house is back on the market. I caught the owner, as she was cutting some brush, blurted out I would give her $195,000, she had to think, but declined. Not sure if I should be happy or sad!
Thanks! I had no idea, I thought it was a sand stone, like the Deaf And Blind School. Definitely Sears blocks, no mistaking that! The sides, are plain concrete blocks, all painted of course. The house is listed as built in 1890, so either, the blocks were retrofitted, or the county is wrong on the date. They lumped a bunch of houses together that they had no idea of date of construction, listing them as all built in 1890 or 1900. I am not sure if I should be sad now, the house sold, and I might have bought it if I knew about the Sears concrete.
