Dr. Who Fans? I need Advice For a Gift

My stepdaughter is a huge Dr. Who fan. Her birthday is coming up. I am getting her the Tardis playset shown below. My idea was to make sort of a background set for her to display this in. This is what causes the problem because I have no idea what would be appropriate. I have not watched the shown but a couple times with her. So we will have the playset in a box what's the best background option? I am a professional printer so I can really make this cool if I could get a good idea. Thank you for your advice.

It might be a nice idea to surround the playset with the 'time vortex' through which the Tardis must always travel to go from one time to another.
The time vortex has appeared in the title sequence of every Dr Who series for nearly 50 years.
As you'll see from my samples, it's a sort of a cloudy, blue-ish green wormhole/tornado funnel.

Here's an old example from the 70s:

And here's the time vortex most applicable to your playset:

Alternatively, you could surround the playset with the exterior walls of the Tardis..

Or maybe you could somehow incorporate both ideas!
