Doubt about 'Leather Forever'

Hello everybody! :yo:

This is my first post here in The Fedora Lounge and I want to explain you a doubt. It's about a leather jacket brand from 1970s called 'Leather Forever'*, established in San Francisco.

This brand made CHP jackets like this one:

I caught these pictures from a Japanese site where this jacket is for sale. I didn't buy it 'cause I don't understand Japanese and I don't rely.

This kind of jacket was worn by Al Pacino in the film 'Cruising' (1980):

Notice this model of jacket has got padded and quilted shoulders and elbows; the shoulders strips are stitched up in half; neither belt nor loops; and the lapels buttons are hidden.

I know Langlitz and Vanson Leathers make similar CHP like the one I show you, but my question is: Do you know if there's any maker or place where these kind of jackets are for sale? I looked over eBay and I didn't find nothing special.

Thank you all in advance for your attention! :)

* Maybe there were different brands which made this kind of CHP jacket, but I didn't find more names.

I don't think that is a true CHiPy's jacket! I have never seen one with that type of quilting and usually they have a reinforced oval leather peace with eyelets on the left Brest for their badge. A lot of company's have dubious ties to the CHP.

I've had a few things from Leather Forever over the years. They sold a good product, but I think they farmed out the manufacture. Originally catered to the hippie crowd, later to the leather bar crowd.

I take it the original poster has watched the film 'Cruising'? I had a mate whom unfortunately could not read, brought it home from the VHS rental and thought it was like American Grafitti:D

That's the brand that gave rise to the expression, "Leather may be forever, but vinyl is final." The alternative to leather for those of us on a budget!
