Do Bailey's run large or small?

I have my eye on the Bailey Case Two Tone Fedora.
The largest size I can find online is an extra large & I am
an xxl. I was wondering if the Bailey sizes ran a little bit
larger than most xl's (i.e. in a royal stetson I wear a
7 3/4 instead of a my normal size of 8.)

thanks for your help.

I have the Jackson by Bailey and it's the roomiest 7 5/8 hat that I own. I don't know if it's a full-size roomy, but there's space going on. You may be able to get away with it.

I have a Bailey "Briar" in Large and it fits fairly snug. I don't think an XL would fit an XXL head without some artificial stretching. Some manufacturers differ in sizing between styles and some are consistent.

If you are an xxl, forget it . These straw hats do have some give to them as they are softer than the typical milan straws but I doubt your hat will fit into the hat.

I had a Bailey Executive that I gave away a while ago and it was the biggest 7 3/8 I've ever worn :) I normally get a 7 1/2 to give myself a little extra room, but the Bailey fit just right at 7 3/8...I dunno!

Hi, everybody. I've been lurking here for a month or two now. First time posting. :)

You know, it's interesting this thread should pop up now, because it was only a mere hour before the thread was started (Thursday) that I received my very own Bailey Executive in the mail, only to find it was too big. I was afraid I had measured myself wrong (still relatively new to hats -- I've only been wearing them a year, and all my previous lids were sized with S/M/L/XL type sizes, instead of an actual size), but now I'm sort of relieved to find out that somebody else had a similar experience with that same hat.

Only half-relieved, though. I'll be completely assured when/if my Jaxon Bogart that's coming today, actually fits me. :) At least then I'll only have one hat to send back and exchange, instead of two.

I just want to say I'm glad I found these forums. From what I've read, all of you are very friendly and always helpful. Looking forward to hanging around.

(Update: the Bogart came and it is, indeed, too large for me. But not nearly as too-large as the Bailey Executive. So I guess both of my assessments are correct: the Executive runs large, *and* I'm terrible at measuring. :) )
