Dark Purple Darwin Fedora Size 7

This is a size 7 Darwin hat. I am as close as you can get to a perfect size 7 and this is just the tiniest too tight on me, plus it sits too high on my head and diminishes me as it doesn't go with my facial features. Time to get rid of it. I can't remember if this was a long past ebay purchase or if it was a bulk buy from a lounger from waaay back in the day. I just can't recall.

It is old and has seen use. I can not attest to its "vintage" pedigree, but the ribbon appears to be the real deal and not petersham.
It is a bound brim.
Brim measures approx: 4 3/10 cm
Ribbon measures: 5 cm
Color is VERY dark purple, hat thinks it wants to be black.

Just a comment after purchasing a hat from John recently.

If you're thinking about picking up this hat, I doubt you'd regret it. He packs well and ships quickly. The hat I purchased was in better condition than was listed.

I have no interest in this sale, but figured a comment from a satisfied customer was worth posting.

This hat is one of the more unique ones I've come across. I've never seen a color quite like it. The pics just do not capture how deep, dark and alive the purple is. A more accurate color adjective might be plum. The perception really changes depending on what light it is in. A bit of a chameleon. You really will look a long time for a color like this and not find it, unless you get a custom hatter with a special dyed batch.

I've also never seen a snap brim with such an upward curl. When the front of the brim is snapped down, it is considerably dramatic. On the right head, with the correct facial features, this hat could look quite striking. (just not on me, hence the sale)

The ribbon is the real deal, gosgrain. Not petersham.

How purple is it? The pictures all seem to be a little different in color.

The first pic is probably the most color accurate. It looks the most purple under tungsten lights. Under florecent lights is looks a grey, plum. Here is a link to my photobucket page with more additional pics of the hat.
