Thanks for the heads up, Emy!

I hope they start reprinting her other books, as they all seem to either be unavailable or be selling for super-silly prices.

I've just pre-ordered this. Estimated delivery of about June. Hopefully I'll have forgotten about ordering by then and get a nice, unexpected surprise in the post!

Oh my. I'm sure I can order this and have it shipped to me in the USA. I'll definitely figure it out and try to do so!!

I put it on my wishlist. Maybe (hopefully?) someone doesn´t know what to give me for my birthday and then I´ve got an answer :)

All right. USA people, here's how this works -- you can buy from any Amazon in another country, but you do need to make an account on that amazon separately from the USA amazon. So, once you make your account, then you can manage your wishlist on that Amazon just like you would do on the USA one, right? Right.

Now, not all items can be shipped worldwide -- but if you click on the shipping options, you can find a list of what items can and can't be shipped where. For instance, Books, DVDs, Video, and Music all say that they can be shipped to "most countries in the world" from Amazon UK, with the added note that "Please note that customers in the US and Canada may be restricted to one copy of certain book titles".

So basically, as long as your item can be shipped to your country according to the list, you're good. Just put in your shipping information like normal and so on. The prices will be listed in pounds (or whatever the country's currency is -- for Japan it's in yen, for instance) and you can't make it tell you dollars, but I think that's okay. Obviously shipping will cost more for those of us who aren't in the UK or some European countries.

BUT yes, it's totally possible to order from Amazon UK like this :) HTH.

Hm, the person who first told me about this is American and said it is available in the US for around $25, so I thought they sell it there? If not on Amazon, it was through one of the big book sellers.

Just a heads up - I received my copy of the book from Amazon today and was so disappointed. It is a soft cover, and very thin, but the most shocking thing is the quality of the illustrations and photos. If a home printer printed to that standard, most people would return it. All the illustrations look like bad photocopies. Apart from that, it honestly doesn't contain anything that can be found better and cheaper on the net. I will be returning it, because the £11 I paid are still too much.

This book recently popped up on the dear little "recommendations" e-mails Amazon sends me, and I was about to buy it when I saw reviews on it much like yours.

How disappointing - Usually the second edition is superior to the first!

Yeah...looks and feels like a college pamphlet or literary magazine. I have it and am stuck with it. Oh well, I still like having it on the shelf.

A large part of the book consists of excerpts from "Creative Hairshaping and Hairstyling You Can Do" by Ivan Anderson. The directions are so taken out of context that they're really hard to follow. There are reprints of the original availabe that I'd consider much better value, I also recently found a cheap pdf version for download.
