We have a Japanese ex-Pat working for us and he let us know everyone at his company along with his friends and family are OK. I guess our latest snowstorm this morning in NE Ohio is nothing to complain about.

Wow, that was a serious one. They say it is the 7th strongest ever recorded. My condolences for those who didn't survive it. The Ring of Fire has been very active the last few years. It isn't finished either.

I do more lurking than posting, but still feel as if I am part of a community with FL. One of my first thoughts when I woke and heard the news about Japan was D-Guy. I second the concern of the others and am hoping the best for him.

Many thanks! I work on the 39 floor and it was scary. People were hanging on to the walls to keep upright...I got out the building, but took an hour. Went back briefly before heading home...everyone was on the streets and walking home - no taxis or busses were moving - stuck in traffic jams. Took me 3 hours but back. Little damage here, but taken precautions - car full of gas and parked outside (winter here), food, and money, water etc in a bag...not going to sleep well tonight. Many small aftershocks. Many thanks everyone...great community...I appreciate it! Cheers

Really appreciate it! You guys are real class citizens of this forum! many aftershocks...chair is rattling as I write. Car is parked outside in case, but we will sleep the night at home (5floors up in 7 story block).
