Picked this jacket up 3 weeks ago and thought I'd post a quick review . The fit and finish is nice , and the materials are nice . The Veg tanned goathide is robust but breaking in nice. The fit is spot on sitting just below beltvline . I've got a 49 inch chest and I've got almost 3 inches of room at chest . The sleeves sit just about an inch above my knuckles . The leather gra8n is nice with lots of goatskin character. The side cinch buckles are nice but not super robust ( more than thick enough , just not chucky) . If I have a gripe it would be the buttons . They aren't bad , and do have the small button on the inside to anchor them . The non shank buttons weren't stitched on great so I re stitched them with some heavier duty thread .

I wonder if it could actually be italian leather at that price. I mean I'm sure the local shops where it's made have access to perfectly good goat leather and it would be expensive to actually import it. I can't see how you get it done at $239.

For $240 shipped it seems to be a no brainer . The stiching is as good as as my Schott . For the money I can't fund anything to complain about . The leather so far is amazing . It's been through rain , snow and s8ngle digit temperatures. The leather is waxed so it isn't showing any water spots .

I believe that it it is . Crush on Retro is using Horween leather on a bunch of boots . Ashwan Rao has reviewed a few styles of engineer boots and has spoken with them and is confident in their sincerity of quality materials and workmanship. It's definitely a very nice goathide . It's supple yet has a decent temper to it . The veg tanning seems to be done well , doesn't feel like a third world country leather . There were no weird smells ( only smell was leather and the smell of the packing bag ) .
