So, I was slipping through an edwardian men's wear catalogue and came across a few ads for neck ties; although most of them weren't advertised as such. They came under a few names- the most common being scarves and cravats. At first glance, they seemed much like the modern tie, but on close examination the illusion was dashed. They were usually shorter, and both ends of the cravat were equal size or very close. Secondly, they weren't as clean and exact as a modern tie- many of them had imperfections or seemed to be just folded together, much like a seven fold tie. Is there anywhere online that sells these, or perhaps a guide on how to make 'em?
