Looks like a Cal to me but there were similar patterns from other makers as well. Satin type liner?. Webco sold Unlabeled Cal's to PD depts. if he truely bought from webco, that's a Cal 100%.

Definitely looks like a Cal Leather of Ventura. Most likely Horsehide. That 6 panel back, the gusset-less sleeve zips and the ring pulls were a combo that was only made by Cal AFAIK. Also, the way the shoulder seams are sewn is very distinctive. Good score! Hope it fits.

well ... you can't tell from pics but jacket had some cracks in leather from hanging for 40 years
picked it up by it'd collar this a.m. and a 6" gash literally opened up across back shoulder !?
got jacket cheap so no real biggie there but real sad to see such a fine jacket turn to junk.

Sent it to Johnson Leathers and have the yoke repaired!

Sad :(

The real enemy of leather is heat and dry air. The original owner probably never even considered how much damage could occur doing that to it in a dry, forced-air furnace household.
Photos? Funeral service?

Actually on second thought, send it to Johnson or Aero as a Pattern-Jacket - maybe they could make you one and have a new design as well... :)

Send me a PM, I will put you in touch with the owner of Cal. She will repair.
Definitely- Let ksozay put you in touch with Cal Leather. Gwen saved a Cal Leather jacket of mine, pulled it back from the grave. It was also dry and cracking. She might be able to breathe new life into this one...
