This is for all those (those few) out there who are into comic strips of the Golden Era (That be you JM Stovall!)

Leonard Starr's finest creation Mary Perkins On Stage is being collected in great looking volumes. Eery panel is a feast for the eyes. He was a master equally of composition, fine line and those juicy brush strokes that make the golden era work sing. (Okay, late fifties is a little out of the GE fo rthis board, but still in the GE for comic art... is that okay?)

Where's your blog?

I'm more of a fan of the earlier greats- Winsor McCay,
George Herriman, Cliff Sterrett, and George McManus
(though I admire Walt Kelly). In the 50s I prefer the
EC material.
