Hello

I am looking for some cloth for a few projects. I have tried my local cloth merchant, but they only had much lighter versions of what I was looking for.
Perhaps any of you, know of a cloth merchant that can cater for my requirements?

Cavalry twill, pure wool, Khaki/tan, 500-650 g/m2
Cream white wool flannel, 400-450 g/m2

Preferably in Europe

It seems their prices are up as well :-D

I was caught in their previous foreclosure, but eventually got my money back.

I'll take my chances with ordering a few cloth samples.

Bookster have some Cavalry twill.

Fox Brothers have the cream flannel:

If you ring up Fox you might get a cloth merchant in Denmark that sells their range, their retail prices online are well out of whack. Do you ever visit the UK? If you could visit them its about £46/m at the mill.

Dugdale, J&J Minnis and Harrisons of Edinburghs' P&B universal line have vintage weights. Ebay.co.uk is good for lengths of old worsted if you want to take a chance too.

That's quite a difference!
Sadly I wont be in the UK for the foreseeable future.

I tried the Danish cloth merchant and they said they could get it by special order. But considering it's just prospecting for a new project, I'm not very eager to shell out loads on fabrics.
I think I'll try my luck with their sample. Then I just hope it's a bit bigger than the 1-2" square pieces one so often get when asking for a sample.

Have you tried Bateman-Ogden in Bradford? If price is an issue, don't go there. Likewise Holland & Sherry. You might try Merchant & Mills if you are working to a tight budget. Hope that helps.

It's not as much as I'm on a tight budget, but rather that I'm just checking out some fabrics in order to see if I want to go ahead with a couple of projects, and I don't want to spend a lot of money on the pre-study.

You won't get a swatch bigger than than the size you mention as a rule.

Perhaps try these remnants sellers

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Olive-gre...00304?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric&hash=item3396a00030

The top two have 1.5m x 1.5m which is sufficient for a pair of trousers.
