From today's VARIETY:

Grant's daughter Jennifer is writing a book, "Good Stuff." What's the meaning of the title? "He (Cary) would say it when something pleased him," Jennifer said. He died Nov. 29, 1986, when she was 20. "He wanted to spend all his time with me. He was so completely devoted to me," she said lovingly. Grant's final film was 1966's "Walk Don't Run." About her book (for Knopf ), Jennifer admitted, "Every once in a while when I can't write, I put on one of his movies -- and I just bathe in him."

He had the one child so late in his life, I read that he was quite devoted to her, so I imagine she has a lot of positive memories of him.

I know he was hoping to live to be 100 so he could be around to see his daughter's wedding, etc. That didn't happen.

I believe Dyan Cannon is Jennifer's mother.

You are correct on all accounts.

BTW - Grant tracked down Dyan's agent so her could arrange a meeting with her. He saw her on a TV show and thought she was hot.

I recall when Jennifer Grant was on one of those
Spelling shows...Melrose Place, I believe. She was adorable.

She sounds like she misses her father terribly.
How fortunate for her that she can play his films to soak him in
from time to time. I can imagine when she does this that he
is sitting right next to her (in spirit) and soaks in her smiles too.
