In my seemingly eternal quest for the perfect Halloween costume, I came across the official site of Carmen Miranda. There is a section of photographs which includes this page of photos of her clothing and accessories. There are some gorgeous and fantastic items and I thought you ladies might enjoy them as much as I do!

Oooohhhh! It's the umbrella hat from Nancy Goes to Rio! That is one of my all time favorite musicals.

I once took a whole class on her. (yea...yea...don't ask...it actually counted for my major too!)

I tend to beleive more of what I read by brazilian authors then by the hollywood press stuff.....about her....


She was a very sad person in so many ways.....

I dressed up as Carmen Miranda a few years ago for Halloween. Nothing elaborate, just a blouse cinched up in front, a long skirt, big earrings and a homemade turban with some silk flowers in it. I put on very red lipstick and dark eyebrow pencil. Everyone knew I was dressed as her.

The scary part was when I came home, looked in the mirror and saw my mother looking back at me. I never thought we looked that much alike.
