Campdraft source: North America

Anyone know a current stock North America source for an Akubra Campdraft, 7 1/4-58, silver belly?

I need one to be given as a present, without the usual 3 month Australia wait.
Would even consider lightly used (no, I won't give him mine).

It is an Australia ONLY hat. You could check on the 'prey and see what you could find. Or see what someone here might have for sale. All Akubra's sold in the US are imported by David Morgan ( they are the sole US distributor for Akubra) and they can't get that model.

Akubra makes it as an Australia ONLY model. Have ever since they renamed it the Campdraft after they stopped making it as a Stetson Open Road under license back in the 50s/60s.

The Camp Draft is well worth the wait. If I may suggest, a gift card now in advance of the hat later will be very appropriate. The waits are often less than three months.

I have four CDs and know your friend will be enthused. :eusa_clap

We are coming out of the prime felt hat-wearing season now in the Northern Hemisphere anyway.

I emailed Everything Austrailian and was told usual 3 months before I asked youse guys for help. I'll try Hats Direct.
I have 4 Campdrafts, all ordered from Australia, most didn't take full 3 months.

My Bushman came from David Morgan's.

It's hat season in B.C. well into summer.

Given that the Campdraft started as a Stetson Open Road made in Australia, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a licensing or copyright issue that prevents Akubra selling them directly to the US.

With the Open Road being still produced here even in it's current form, you are probably right that Stetson had such provisions for after the license of production ran out.
