An idle mind is the devil's workshop! Here's more proof:
Sitting here daydreaming instead of working, I started contemplating the coming holiday season. As I free associated, I recalled my purchase a few years ago of a string of bubbe lights, and my frustration over the act that of 7 lamps on the string, 3 or 4 of them didn't work. They didn't bubble. Very vexing.
So I decided to Google bubble lamps. Herewith are the results.

A place to buy them:

And for the truly disturbed, here is a list every one ever manufactured:

This is a cool website, dedicated to ALL Christmas lights. Totally cool.

A few years ago we pulled the bubble lights out of the family X-mas storage. One broke and started to eat a hole in the wood floor.

We don't use bubble lights any more.

I just spent a few minutes looking at the antique Christmas lights for sale on Ebay. Such wonderfu stuff! Who knew? Lots of figural bulbs, snowmen, angels, cartoon characters, etc. 1920's vintage string sets with scarey looking silk wires. Some very interesting stuff.
