British Workwear Jacket - 1930s?

I don't know anything about workwear, so I have no idea whether it is actually a 1930s jacket. But it's quite nice.

Somewhere in my parents' house there is a similar jacket in a burgundy hue, which was my shopfloor uniform during my student days, back in the Nineties. From memory, mine was polycotton. I'd have expected back in the day (certainly pre-1970) they were drill cotton or similar? At a guess, I'd say this could be 1950s, but it really is only a guess based on dated examples I have seen before. Would be interesting to see a photo of the back. Based on examples I have seen in the past, a belt back would be much more common on vintage, and unseen in more recent examples.

Nice one (I also guess 1950's, but looks good for earlier... nice lapels and pockets).
Too bad about the rather short sleeves (21 inches). The backside would be interesting indeed.

I have one like this. It's liable to have a plain back. They were very basic utility jackets, made of robust poplin, and with very few frills or extras that would increase production costs.
