Pretty much the brim's either up or down. Some hats lend themselves to all down all around for more casual look but a lot of snap-brims are flanged so they need at least the back up.
My guess on "wing flip" is a curl up on the sides of brim like Stratoliners had by keeping them in their tight boxes. Stratoliner - Wing, get it?
Anyway that is a guess. Looking forward to learning if I'm wrong on that one.[huh]
