I agree. My first Langlitz was a Columbia and the Cascade I followed it with was a let down. The Columbia is their masterpiece.
Thanks El Marro and Canuck Panda. I know that was a thread hijack on my part. So thanks all else for putting up with the hijack!

Actually, I was quite fortunate to visit them in person this summer, and trying on several in the store convinced me that a Columbia is what I wanted. Believe it or not I have an order in, and the other two were both off FL or ebay. So I am thankful for these.

I can’t believe it!
Someone posted up EBay with a Hardcore Highwayman (the D Pocket Vanson) with quilted arms and shoulders!

It’s got everything!

Clean one panel upper back, with the lacing but no belt or loops, AND Elbow and Shoulder quilting!

very strange d pocket though. What's the point in putting the zip half way throught the jacket, making half the pocket inaccessible?

That’s just the change pocket in the facing. Main access zipper is here:

What I want to know is why is it backwards? Usually they're set up for cross draw acces. This is more ofba styling detail. The D shape isn't a patch pocket, but a stitching detail. Inside it's the same handwarmer pocket as the righthand side.

But then on the inside of the jacket is the big leather lined "gun pocket"... So it does have a big functional cross draw pocket, but it's not the external D pocket?

It's not the way I'd have designed it, but it also doesn't lose any functionality either.

It's a quirky design choice, maybe that's why they call it an 80's style cross zip not a 40's style?

The Hardcore arrived, and WOW.
This is my current “last leather jacket I’ll ever buy.” :D

On the hanger in the sellers pictures it looks a little... droopy? But not in hand.

It's been customized to add the quilting in the arms, but it's also got the ignition pocket on the left sleeve from the R&R model.

I really dig it, and I don't believe it's ever been ridden in, the sleeve gussets aren't even creased. This was a "safe queen" to borrow a phrase.

I'll get some pics up soon, but I'm making dinner for my kiddo!
