I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m a pretty good seamstress and I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m planning to make my husband a 30?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s style belt back jacket. I am going to adjust and restyle a 40?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s jacket pattern that I already have that don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t have a belt back. (Don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t worry; I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m not doing to mess with the original pattern.) I don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t have an actual belt back jacket to look at, so I have a few questions.
First off, do they usually have a side piece under the arm(three sections, front, side, and back)? Or does the belted back section go al the way to the side seam(two sections, front and back)? Also, I haven?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t decided yet if I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m going to have a back yoke or not. Is one more correct for the period than the other? Was one more for sportswear and one for business? I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m sure I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll have more questions as I go along. Thanks so much!
