I love her coat! I should think this will be entertaining - the Beeb do tend to do well with period drama, in my experience.

There was indeed; first aired in 1978, it ran for a few years as a regular series, then a few more years as occasional specials, the last of those being in 1990.

I THOUGHT so.. We used to get a lot of british TV,actually when i was young..I remember my dad and i used to watch ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL..

Oh yes, I grew up watching it. I only remember seeing the film about ten years after original transmission (and thinking it was all the "wrong" actors lol), but I was the right age to have seen the series pretty much from the off as my parents watched it. Dad has long been a big fan of pre-war vintage cars, particularly Austins and Morrises of the 30s (though he's owned all sorts, the youngest being a 1978 Porsche 911 which converted me: I'd always thought of them as poseur apparatus before, but thon was a driving machine, and the quality of everything in it was outstanding. A little late for me, mind- the Porsche I'd prefer is the 356). I think the cars were the initial attraction of the series for my parents, but the quality of the acting and the stories was such that they kept with it. I must get around to reading the books.
