This Penney's Marathon arrived today. It's a fawn/gray color?
Brim: 2 3/4"
Crown: 4 1/2"
Ribbon: 1"
Matching brim ribbon is 3/8"
Embossed on the sweatband is Supreme Quality Marathon Hats J.C. Penney Co.
This is my first Marathon. The ribbon has some staining. I'm not sure if it can be removed. I'm a bit gun shy about giving this hat a naptha bath. This one is probably my last purchase for a while. In fact I may have to let a few other hats go. Here a few pictures.

That looks too nice to risk dunking. I'd send it off to Optimo, though sweat stains in the ribbon seem like a bear even for them to get out.

Nice hat!

Thanks for all the kind words gentlemen. Speaking of sending a hat to Optimo. Are we talking about a cleaning and reblock? Or do you just send it to them and wait for a reply with a recomendation and price quote?

Razzman...

You'll tell Graham at Optimo what you think the hat needs and when he gets it he'll tell you what it really needs. I've trusted his judgment, he's the professional after all, and have been glad I did. LOL

Razzman: ditto the above. Send it out and let the pros sort it out; one
heckuva nice hat! If you compare the quality with some of the better
Stetsons and even Borsalinos, I think you'll find it close to call. I've got a couple, and it never fails to put a smile on my face when I can don a
"thrift store" quality hat, and then not feel it on my head all day, fit and
quality that good. Also found the Marathon a good Summer hat, if the
felt is thin enough-and the colors are great for the warmer weather...
congrats!
