If this film ever came to a theatre near us, we sure can't remember seeing it on the marquee or hearing about it. We checked out An Unfinished Life on DVD from the library the other night. What a good story with terrific performances by Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, Josh Lucas, and yes, even Jennifer Lopez.
Lasse Hallstrom (My Life as a Dog, Cider House Rules, Chocolat and What's Eating Gilbert Grape) directs this story about four people coming to grips with regret and reality and relearning how to live. This is a wonderful drama that is actually interested in the lives and stories of its characters as much as it is interested in the metaphorical and what makes us who we are.
A highly recommended "sleeper."
