Folks,

Does anyone know of an

a) Quality Tailor or Seamstress in the LA Metro area for alterations?
b) A qualityBespoke Tailor that could use my material to make a waistcoat for me?

The situation is that Magneto and I will be officially moved into our place on Saturday or Sunday. We need some alterations done on some vintage clothes like having an inch taken out of this vintage suit jacket that I bought...and she has some beautiful items as well to be taken in. We need someone that we could trust.

I also have some remnants from a fabric store here in SF that I would very much like to have made into a waistcoat.

So, Los Angelenos, OCites and San Diegans...speak up. I'll drive a good distance for quality.

Thanks,

FG.

For alterations, go straight to Noe Montoya. Trained the old school way, he's been in the tailoring business since the 1950s ... and he's located very near you! Tell Noe that Marc Chevalier sent you, and he'll treat you right.

Here's his address:

Academy Tailor Shop
23 N. Catalina Ave.
Pasadena, CA 91106

Open Monday through Saturday.

Would be fun. Noe loves working on vintage and classic clothes. He can't stand the crappy new stuff that usually comes his way.

It ain't hard to guess who provided him with Apparel Arts illustrations for the shop's walls. ;)

.

That would be great, but let's do it around the end of the month during payday. ;)
