Here is one of the best pairs of autumn shoes I have ever owned. These cap toed brogues in a rich brown that I believe is called "chestnut" are made by renowned English maker, Alan McAfee - I am not certain of the date - I would say old enough to be actually made by the McAfee firm, but either new enough or well cared for enough to be in excellent condition. The leather is as sound as the day they were made, inside and out. No cracks, stains, loose stitches, odors or significant wear. The nailed heel has minimal wear on the insets, and the sole was covered with a thin rubber layer - it is not a half-sole. These would be equally fine with tweeds, flannels, cords or khakis - or with a suit. I would say these are about an 8.5 E width. I am a 9 E, and I can get these on comfortably if I wear thin socks. I cannot decipher the hieroglyphics on the insides, but can make out an 8 and possibly a G - the other stuff may be maker/customer info. As English sizes run a size smaller these could be a 9D in US. Sole dimensions are 4.25" across ball and 11.5 heel to toe. Price is $100 shipped in USA, overseas please inquire for shipping cost.
