Aero Type 3 Trucker Jacket

Does anybody own one of these? If so, could you please give your opinion of it and also post a picture. I haven't seen any of these jackets in the wild. Thank you.

I was just looking at those jackets today. I just bought a Lost World Jean Jacket and may have to sell it as it is a size too big. The Aero looks nice. I don't like the Alexander Jean jacket that well, at least not the one presented on their website.

I tried one on in the factory, it was tan HH, but I much prefer the black MWHH that they're using for this one. It runs pretty much to size. I liked it but I felt it didn't really suit me, though I could be persuaded on the black one.

The suede steer looks great in these-better than the leather imo. There are/was an example up on ebay w/measurements.

does it have the same short waisted fit as a Denim jacket? What is MW horsehide?

The one I tried on came down just over my belt-buckle, which is ideal length for me, so not too short. Medium Weight Horse Hide (MWHH). It's still a substantial skin, but it has a drape to it that you don't get with FQHH when you first wear it.

Won't work here: we all have those huge cowboy/western/rodeo buckles we love to show off while wearing jeans-type jackets. A covered-up buckle could start a riot or something.....

We had a really nice Aero Type 3 in seal brown goatskin come through a little while ago...no fit pics from the customer, but he was very pleased with how it turned out! The contrast stitching was an excellent choice for this style...

REaistically I can't picture myself in one of these - too "modern" a style for me - but I did see one or to in Aero's showroom, and they looked nice. I think goat wouyld be a great hide for one of these, though I'm probably affected by thinking of one of these as a "Summer" jacket; I had a denim jacket (Lord brand - Dunnes Stores' own-brand denim of the day.... 1989, I got it, and it gave loyal and hard-wearing service right up until 1997, when one of the cuffs finally frayed out.... Probably still in my folks' house, somewhere!) for years, which I wore in the Summer.

Trucker jackets go back at least to the 50's. I have a picture of myself at age 5 wearing a denim trucker jacket. It's up on my wall and looking at me right now...

Uhm.... we might be using the term differently (likely me has it wrong), but I was thinknig of this very specific Type 3 pattern, with handwarmer pockets; I though it was introduced sometime in the Sixties?

I have one from Hillside USA in brown cowhide. It comes with a zipper and I had snaps added for the look. It came out heavier than I like due mainly to the signature interior pockets from Hillside. Overall the jacket is a very well constructed piece in quality of workmanship and materials.

I think the pockets were added in the 70's, actually. There's a 62 Trucker and a 67 Trucker, but I've seen vintage examples from earlier periods. I'd be interested if anyone (Dinerman?) knows the real history of the Trucker jacket.

I must say, I really like that! The contrast stitching defnitely brings out its jean jacket heritage.

Lee started making their "trucker" type jacket, Lee 101-J, in 1946 (if not earlier) and the pattern didn't change through at least 1980.

I picked up a very nice Aero trucker from a fellow forum member. Not sure exactly what the leather is. It is a smooth finish very soft almost like a deer skin. I normally wear a 38 Aero Half-belt and this trucker is a 42 and fits me perfect so I would say they run small. It is a warm weather jacket for me, definitely no break in required.
