Aero black CXL FQHH vs CXSH: struck through or brown undertone?

Morning all,

I have a black CXL FQHH Aero Highwayman that has developed wonderfully over the years. The edges have turned brown, and the topcoat has thinned on certain spots, showing the brown underlayer.

I’m now considering a black CXL steer jacket. I know Horween has struck through and non-struck-through CXL.

Does anyone know if the black steer CXL also has a brown core, or if it’s struck through?

Thanks in advance, gents.

Take a look at the zippers.

Is the jacket available for you to examine? If yes then look at high wear areas such as the leather around the zip pull area if it is a pre loved jacket. If it's a new aero congratulations...ask aero.

It's best to just ask Aero what they've got. I know black core CXL exist but I've not seen an Aero black CXL with black underside. All the black CXL I have from Aero is black outside and brown underneath.

Asking Aero is the best route here.

My (several) CX Steerhide jackets showed some brown undertones, but at a much slower rate than CXL FQHH jackets.
