A2 knits replacement recommendation

Hello everyone! I hope the holidays find you all safe and healthy. During the downtime I finally sent in my A-2 (from THE FEW) to Dena Hamilton at LEATHER CARE SPECIALISTS. Amazing experience!

The entire process took just over a week, not counting the USPS drastically slowed down times. Having never done such a thing I had no idea how to go about it. Peacoat was kind enough to recommend Dena and he was spot-on.

I went to her website, filled out the contact form, mailed her the jacket and (after getting it) called me to discuss the options. A very informed and delightful lady. Once completed she shipped it back. The post office tied up the “priority” package for almost 10 days. Gotta love the holiday and COVID slowdowns!

The workmanship was top-notch. I couldn’t tell that anything had been done, except that there were no holes in the knits. It looked like it did when new. No missed stitch holes, no wavy lines, just perfection! The quality of the wool knits was slightly heavier than my ELC, but not so heavy as US AUTHENTIC uses, and the color match was perfect. I couldn’t be more pleased with the entire transaction and HIGHLY recommend Dena if any of you are thinking of getting it done. She really knows her craft and cares about the customer. Just google LEATHER CARE SPECIALISTS and you’ll find her!

Good to hear of another success story from Dena's work. I have never heard of a bad story. She is a member here:

Hopefully she will check in from time to time and give us her expert opinion on questions that crop up.

At the risk of being uncouth, what did this repair run you??? I am interested in maybe having Dena replace some knits myself and am in the process of checking around. I only hear glowing reports about her work and I certainly trust the various loungers like yourself who have used her.

No problem at all! Cost me $150 plus about $20 shipping. I thought it quite reasonable considering her expertise and craftsmanship.

Dena (@iknowleather) replaced a C&C zipper on my L.W. "TEST" with a #10 Crown today while I waited!
She does fantastic work! Her work exceeded my expectations. PERFECT.
After @ El Marro ordered one from Mash, I thought I'd give it a try.
Thanks to everyone here at the Lounge for making this possible.

That’s great Steve!
I’ve got my #10 Crown sitting on my dresser just waiting for the right jacket to come along...
