A Month By The Lake

Has anyone ever seen the film "A Month By The Lake" starring Vanessa Redgrave, James Foxx and a younger Uma Thurman. I only caught the last hour of the film, so I don't really know what's going on, but it doesn't look bad. Anyway, made in 1995, the clothes in it, for both men and woman, are amazing. I think it takes place during the late 30's. Uma Thurman pulls of the look so well. Even if it's not the greatest movie to watch, check it out for the clothes. Lots of mens linen suits and pretty ladies dresses. Some great cars as well.

I saw this on an airplane. It's the only time on a plane when I actually wanted to watch the movie! I really enjoyed it.

It's been so long since I've seen it (it was shorly after it came out that I saw it) that I can't really remember it well but I do remember the swimsuits--fabulous swimsuits! It's a quiet, "English women abroad" kind of picture much like Enchanted April.

I've seen it and I was just about to say the same thing! Shades of Enchanted April.

But the whole movie is really wonderful and has that lovely summer feeling to it. Like in the summer scenes from "Hope & Glory".

OOOh, Enchanted April, I'm gonna have to see this. I was thinking of buying the lake movie, it'd be a good resource for clothes and hair ideas. I did see one of the swim suit scenes. They are great. I'll have to look for Enchanted April as well.

A Month by the Lake & Enchanted April

Both movies are great and worth seeing if you haven't already. Tea with Mussolini is another good one in a vintage setting.
