When "A Family at War" ran in the USA back in the mid '70s I made sure to not miss an episode. My new bride at the time became annoyed at times when I chose to forgo other activities to keep up with the saga. Fortunately it did no permanent damage to our relationship.

Love it! My wife and I actually bought the entire series on DVD and truely enjoyed seeing it again.
It could have been done differently today, better in many ways - not so much studiowork and what have you ....but the story and the characters still hold up!
