Remaking a film that is already good is part of why I don't like "High Society" or "Easy to Wed".
Of course most of the remakes on that list were based on previous material already (plays, books, etc.).

Sincerely,

What I find amusing is that a lot of the remakes or reboots are being done on cheaper budgets, but being done in '3D' so they can charge higher ticket prices.

I actually really liked Cliffhanger.

Im surprised the 'Wizard of Oz' or the 'Sound of Music' isnt on that list. Give it 10 years.

This is a whole new facet of the movie industry. People know these remakes are going to be bad, most expect them to be, but people will go see them if nothing else to compare them to the original, or to think less in leu of lager FXs. This makes movie making safe and a quicker return on their investment because the build in demographic is already there. What other industry can do that?

Ive never seen the original, and thats not the point. :)
What's up for grabs next? Cleopatra, the Ten Commandments, On the Waterfront? Rebel Without a Cause?

It used to be you'd sequel a movie franchise to death if you wanted to milk the build in audience. This is just lazy. They are not actually improving these movies/stories, even though some could stand to be improved/updated. This is just to make a more CG version with less story that is more palatable to a non thinking audience and that they can charge more so that its 'reformatted' in 3D. Like the switch from Laserdisc to DVD. Its pretty sad.

Oh! And then we HAVE to have the theader musical version too, you know, like they have done with Hairapray, and Sherck, and Legally Blonde *yucky*

I'm almost stunned into silence. It wouldn't be so bad if there were a chance that any of them wold be any good. Just a small chance.
