7-1/2 to 7-5/8 Dobbs Twenty (1950s)

Just received this hat:

Vintage Dobbs Twenty

It's a GREAT hat, just as described in the auction... EXCEPT... Yeah, there's ALWAYS an EXCEPT, isn't there? It fits way to snug for the 7-3/4 LO that it's marked as.

NOTE: Great condition overall. No moth nips, nibbles, bites, chunks. If I were keeping it, I'd get it cleaned and blocked. While the sweatband shows the inevitable "edge wear," the leather is still very supple and I wouldn't replace it.

I saw that one on the 'Bay, but the measurements of 8 3/8" by 6 5/8" sounded too small for a 7 3/4 LO.

Is the 1 7/8" brim width noted in the auction description accurate? What is the crown height uncreased?

The brim width is accurate = 1-7/8 in. The UNCREASED crown height is 4-7/8 in. This really IS a nice hat. Just wish it was a tad bigger!
