VINTAGE 1964 US AIRFORCE STAFF SERGEANT OVERCOAT
Complete with buttons from New York Button Works!
Tagged 33S. Measurements:
Chest: 19 1/2
Sleeve: 23 1/2 (+2)
Shoulder: 18 1/2
Length: 39 1/2 (bottom of collar)
Length: 40 1/2 (back collar seam)
Made in 1964 by Tursini and Company in Vinel;and, NJ, this is a classic Air Force enlisted man's double-breasted overcoat.
Cut from warm, heavyweight wool in Air Force blue, this has an oversized collar for warmth, wool epaulettes, and two deep lined, flapped front pockets. It is fully lined and has a single center vent.
It features five of its original six buttons with US Air Force insignia. These buttons were all made by the New York City Button Works. This closed in 1955, so these buttons are older than the coat.
This coat also has its Staff Sargeant rank insignia on the sleeves.
This coat does has a couple of small moth nibbles, as shown--these are primarily on the left sleeve. With the single missing button--easily replaced with a vintage original for around $8--this is thus in Very Good condition.
Asking just $45, or offer, boxed, shipped, and insured in the USA.
(The buttons alone are worth this!
