1958 Sears Hercules Horsehide jacket found in Japan. I had never seen this model for sale. Since buying this I have seen two others in smaller size. The pockets, wrist straps, overall style look more like a jacket from 1948. This is also among the last Horsehide jackets Sears sold. The large collar shape, the unique back designs, use of French seems looks like Monarch of Milwaukee jackets I have owned. I suspect them as the maker. This is an unusual design for 1958, kinda retro in 58.
The jacket is in excellent condition with only slight neck wear. Just noticed a loose thread on the left pocket. The red quilt lining is very clean and extends into the arms, making for a very comfortable jacket for light weather. The leather is very nice through out. Zipper is well sewn.
This jacket competes well with contemporary jacket in its's unique style and very clean condition. The original copy describes the jacket well.
A very nice, unique jacket that stands the test of time.
Price: $375 shipped in CONUS.
