I offer for sale these two wonderful French caps. The brand name is "Hélice Club". Look at that liner logo! They are both marked as to size - one is a 58cm (approx US 7 1/4), the other 59cm (approx US 7 3/8) and appear to fit true to size. The base colour on these caps is a dusty blue/grey and there is an overcheck in darker grey with light flocking, as you can see. They are made of a mid-weight fabric, probably rayon. Each cap features a nipple-type snap to hold down the brim. The construction of these caps is typical of French caps of the 1950s, with three rear darts, and a single panel top and swooped side panel giving a very desireable shape when worn. See pics below!
These caps are deadstock, never worn, still with the original brown paper crown liner protection. Both are in external and internal excellent condition, though the leather sweatbands are dry, brittle, and cracked/ripped in several places. The sweatbands will therefore need to be replaced (or removed and the caps worn as approx 1cm larger in size). This sweatband issue has naturally reduced the asking price to rock bottom! Snap 'em up.
