1940's themed birthday party

my brother in laws birthday is coming up in feb. and my sister wants to have a 40's themed party. The men are gonna be dressing in zoot suits etc and i was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on food, decorations, drinks, etc etc etc to make it an authentic theme party. Thanks 4 sny and all suggestions/ideas!

My wife and I threw a 40's themed party for an aunt of hers some years ago. We took an old 1940 console radio that didn't work (still have it, still doesn't work) and set it up in a corner. We stuck a large boom box inside and pumped our music through it. If you can borrow such a radio, or maybe find one on Ebay or Craigslist (non working ones can be fairly cheap) you could try something like that.
You could also find images of old newspapers from WW II and enlarge them and put them on the walls. Likewise, 40's magazine ads and images of WW II airplanes. They can be found on Ebay, and other places, including here on the Lounge. You could down load the images and blow them up. If you can get a picture of Franklin Roosevelt, you should put him in a place of honor.
You could give every body ration coupons for their food.
You could have old Abbott and Costello or Glenn Miller movies on TV screens around the room (like if you have a spare computer monitor or what ever) and play it with the sound off.

1) Red, White and Blue bunting.
2) tape on the windows gives a period war time feel (although I guess this never happened in the USA)
3) Jelly or Blancmange (Not sure what you would call the British Jelly in the USA as we would call your Jelly, Jam)
