1940's taupe gabardine 3 piece suit.

Seller lists suit as from the '30s, but the dropped belt loops say '40s to me. It even lacks cuffs. Could it be a rationed wartime suit?

I believe by the late 30s Dropped belt loops where around.
If you check the stickys you can see some dropped loops in 1938

Here is one from the stickys, the young man walking has some pretty dropped loops
