1940s (?) multi-colored tweed patch pocket SB 3 button sport jacket 46L

Hey guys,

Spotted this one on the racks. Don't have it yet but if you want it let me know and if it is still there I'll buy it for you. $20 and that includes the shipping! I hear larger sizes in vintage jackets are harder to come by. The jacket has a nice rougher tweed texture and a subtle multi-colored weave that looks pretty good. I'd honestly love to pick it up and wear it myself but it is way, way too big for me. From just a brief observation I noticed no damage to the outside. The armpit lining on the right side has some wear and I noticed a 1 cm tear near that area in the lining as well. Other than that, looked great! No tag, so I'm not sure the exact period, but has the skeleton lining.

I'd also be very, very open to trades in my size (39R) so I'd love to see what you have!!!

Nice. Early-Middle 50s, but a nice tweed, and rare in that size. You should be able to sell/trade it here easily at that price.

I had always assumed that the skeleton lining was from the 1930s-1940s until I saw very 1950s suit not too long ago with it as well. Old (new) habits die hard

Is there a rough estimate on when most manufacturers/tailors started going with the upper half-lined back? I've almost exclusively seen that manufacturing technique among those suit jacket garments with the 1949 Union tag.
